Create a Password reset disk for windows xp using floppy, pen drive, cd or any other media.This disk is used to reset the password in case you forget your password.

How To Create Password Reset Disk in Windows Xp?

You can create a password reset disk by using a pen drive, floppy cd or any other external media.
Just follow the following steps to create your own Logon Password Reset Disk:-
1: Goto start menu, control panel, User Accounts and click on your account name.
2: In the left hand side under Related Tasks, click on the “Prevent a forgotten password”
3: The Forgotten Password Wizard will appear.
4: Click on Next.
5: Select the external media from the drop down list. (Remember to plug floppy, pen drive, or any other media before starting the wizard).
6: Click on Next.
7: Enter your current password and click next.

That’s it you are done.

Now to use the password reset disk follow the following steps:-

1: Start Windows
6: After these just enter the new password and you will be logged on to the system.
2: When the logon screen appears, type anything and click enter.
3: You will see the “Did you forget your password?” box, Click on the Reset password using Password Reset Disk”
4: Password reset wizard will come up.
5: Click next and enter new password and confirm the password and click next.
